On The Wall Today

It's been quite some time since I made an entry specifically to link up with Patchwork Times design wall.  But I have been doing some sewing recently so I decided to share.

These are the six blocks I have completed so far on my "Virginia Bound" quilt top.  This is a Bonnie Hunter pattern from her Book "Scraps and Shirttails".  I have another six sections almost complete.  So at least I've been making a little progress on this.  A section is one star point. It takes four to make one block and the pattern calls for eighty points to make the twenty (15") required blocks. Bonnie's quilt only measures 77 x 91 so I don't know if that's going to work for me or not.  I might have to make mine square.

I have also completed another 20 QOV blocks to send in to Alycia at Alycia Quilts.  You can read about her block drive by following the link to her blog.

The first twenty I sent in had yellow centers.  After making these it is very apparent I am going to have to add some more yellows to my stash.  And a few more blues wouldn't hurt either.  I'm not sure I could get another twenty blocks out of the yellows I have left.  These blocks have been fun and super simple to make.  They also make me want to sew a log cabin quilt.  Maybe I'll just add one to my list.

Happy Monday and Happy Sewing,

Julie

I love the bright "Virginia Bound" blocks. The orange is so much fun! And your blue and yellow blocks are so nice and soothing.

I like your Va. Bound blocks. I think I made some a couple of years ago, but yours really are eye catching. Love that orange. I am on an orange and black streak right now. Hmmm! Maybe I need to make some of these.
