Design Wall Monday July 26, 2010

No actual design wall (yet), just a bed, the table and the floor. This is a quilt that is bits and pieces of other quilts I have seen and liked. My favorite quilt colors are red, white and blue which worked perfectly with what I'm doing here.

The center bear paw blocks and scrappy sashing are done. I am now working on the piano key border. The fabrics are all the same as in the bear paw blocks just looks different with the lighting in the dining room. This quilt will be queen size when finished. I hope to have the top done by Wednesday so I can take it to quilt guild.

I'll have to check back to see the quilt with your piano borders. I like red, white, and blue quilts. In fact, I have one flimsy that I need to get sandwiched and start quilting.

I love bear paws too, the first quilt I ever made was a Thimbleberries bear paw scramble. Yours looks great, love those piano keys!

Lovely colours and your banner shows really accurate pieceing - how do you do that? Is there a magic tip you can give me or is it just perseverance, practice and a lot of checking as you go along (well I say just, I mean, huge amounts of...)
